11. What is the history of the hotel?
The Fort George Hotel was constructed in 1952 by the Caribbean Development Corporation
(CDC). It comprised of 35 rooms and opened to the public in 1953. In 1961, parts of the hotel
were destroyed by hurricane Hattie. Belize Hotels Limited acquired the Fort George Hotel in
1985. The famous club tower was built in 1989 by Johnston International. A year later, the
franchise agreement was signed with Radisson International. Holiday Inn, which was directly
across the street, was then acquired by the owners in 1993.
12. Do you have options of printing boarding pass?
Our business center located in the main lobby provides computer access for guests to print their
boarding pass.
13. Is there a charge for early check in/late check out?
Check in is 3 p.m. and check out is at 12 noon. There is no charge for early check-ins, it is based
on availability. Late checkout may incur an additional fee based on the requested check out time.
14. Is there a microwave in the room?
Microwave is not available in the room.
15. Is there a refrigerator in the room?
Our Premium rooms are equipped with a refrigerator. For the other room types, a refrigerator
can be provided at a rental rate of US$5.00 per day or $25.00 weekly.
16. Is there a Manager on Duty?
The Radisson has a designated Manager on Duty. That person can be contacted by dialing “0”
from anywhere in the hotel.
17. Is the area safe to walk?
The area is considered one of the safest. It is patrolled regularly by our Belize Police Department
and in addition our hotel has a private security company that does additional patrol around a
two-block radius of the hotel.
18. How close is the Water Taxi to the hotel?
There are two Water taxis terminals within a 7 minute walk from the hotel. San Pedro Water
Express is about a 3-minute walk away and Ocean Ferry which is 7minutes walk from the hotel.
19. Are there taxis onsite at the hotel?
Yes, taxis are available just outside the hotel and operate independently of the Radisson.
20. Is the hotel All inclusive?
We are not an all-inclusive property. Meals, drinks, gratuities, other services and activities are
not included in the room rate.
